A competition born in memory of a duo, grown into an international event.
Renato Giangrandi · Arlette Eggmann
The Giangrandi-Eggmann Prize was founded in 2014 in memory of the masters Renato Giangrandi, a violinist from Florence, and Arlette Eggmann, a pianist from Geneva.
The couple, winners as a duo of the absolute first prize at the prestigious “ARD” International Competition in Munich in 1955, after an intense concert career in Italy and abroad devoted their lives with the same passion to teaching, in particular for thirty years at the Cagliari Conservatory.
